YOSHIKIi to compose Golden Globes 2012 Theme Options

On January 5th, the Golden Globes Awards announced through their official website that YOSHIKI would be composing their event theme this year.

Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) president Dr. Aida Takla-O’Reilly and Dick Clark Productions executive Barry Adelman both praised YOSHIKI for his fine musicianship and exceptional talent.

“YOSHIKI is a world-renowned musician and composer of enormous talent and versatility, who in addition to being a rock superstar has composed for film and television,” said Dr. Takla-O’Reilly. “As an international organization dedicated to creative achievements, the HFPA is delighted to have a global musical artist of YOSHIKI’s stature create the theme for the show.”

Adelman added, “We look forward to incorporating YOSHIKI’s music into the production of the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards.”

Commenting on his new project, YOSHIKI said, ““The Golden Globe Awards are extremely prestigious, but the show is also edgy. I’m a classical pianist and a rock drummer, so it was natural to create something beautiful that also has an edge. ”

YOSHIKI had also attended the Golden Globe Awards last year.

For those of you who are able to tune in, the 69th Golden Globe Awards will air on January 15th via NBC at 7:00 p.m. EST. It will be hosted by Ricky Gervais.

This isn't small news, this is actually big shit, so I'm making a new thread for it. Golden Globes? Damn, he has must have a pretty good agent to land a deal like that, and if fucking X JAPAN would have released that goddamn album already, it would be the PERFECT opportunity to advertise it and the band, I can't believe he's not taking full advantage of that >_<

"It will be released in 2012 for sure" I hope he doesn't go back on his word.

I heard a little bit.... I can't describe, it sounds like a song he had already written... maybe Ima wo Dakishimete?
But it sounds very much like Yoshiki, and would love to hear it fully...

I didnt watch all of it, I can't stand these pretentious Hollywood DOUCHE BAGS....
the first 2 minutes of the arrivals I couldn't take, so I never saw Yoshiki enter....
And I didn't watch much of the ceremony.... I did see Yoshiki once on TV, and I giggled like a school girl when a hot guy takes his shirt off.

ANYWAY... maybe someone will post the song... or maybe it will come as a bonus track to the CD....
remember Yoshiki said he wasn't sure about adding a track to the CD.... which was kinda around the same time he wrote this... so maybe~

ALSO I think its kinda silly about the best dressed and Yoshiki was in the top 5... ahha

The theme sounds beautiful but the edit on the Gervais' monologue totally sucks.
I think Yoshiki would not be very happy with the person who did that edit...

I watched about 15 minutes of the show , and after the comedy award there was some stupid commercial break and I went to bed (It was on livestream at 2 a.m. here in Germany, but it was okay for me since I didn't have to get up early today).

I saw Yoshiki twice, he was sitting near Antonio Banderas, and he wasn't mentioned by Ricky Gervais. Poor Yoshiki....
I think it's somewhat hilarious that some of those people were sitting next to a guy who once wrote a song called "I'll Kill You".

I didnt watch all of it, I can't stand these pretentious Hollywood DOUCHE BAGS....
