Yeah it's a Fernandes FMG (BC Rich Mockingbird copy) from the early 80's
which I think hide used all the way from his early Saber Tiger gigs.
Then he started to glue stuff onto it, for example a skull on the headstock. smile.gif

The guitar is shown here as well and it describes some of the features I think

Thanks a lot for those scans Mark!
Nice to see some info about their equipment.

Agreed with the Frankensteiner, is a really cool guitar! Does anybody know if the guitar does still exist?

I think I've seen it being called Army Panther somewhere, but I don't know if that's what hide himself called it.
It does exist! But as you saw in that picture I posted before, it's in a bit worse condition than in the 80's photos.
I think hide's brother has all his guitars now. They used to be at the hide museum in Yokosuka for
everyone to see, but that museum was closed as you probably know.

Anyway, now I at least know exactly which model it is.
In that pic Mark uploaded, it says MG-160.
Here is a scan from a Fernandes catalog which I think is from 1980:

So it's the one called FMG-160.
I think I saw one of those on an auction on yahoo japan sometime.
Fernandes should make new models like that, or a real replica of hide's version!
