Usualmente no hago escritura creativa en inglés, pero esta fue una gran excepción. Este poema fue dedicado cariñosamente para el cantante Toshimitsu “Toshi” Deyama, gracias a un proyecto organizado por mi sitio web de X JAPAN.

En 2010 Toshi enfrentó la bancarrota, el fraude y el divorcio simultáneamente. Varias personas de todo el mundo unimos esfuerzos a través del Internet, y el resultado fue un álbum con decenas de cartas, fotos y dibujos de Europa, Asia y América. Fue un orgullo que no puedo describir el tener mi poema en las páginas frontales.

Once upon a time a great hero was born
in his hands he held an orb of spirit and light
it guided people’s hearts and vanished their fright
and all grief and sorrow were put to mourn

He could spark light in pitch black
his voice healed the whole earth
looming joyness and cherish back
making the jungles of asphalt rebirth

He was a warrior, a samurai in a band
who would rise every time he fell
he held ocean and sky in his hands
and gave hope in every one of his yells

But he had a beat of doubt in his heart
no one knew it could tear him apart
people just looked and gave him praise
thinking he held nothing but grace

The sheep looked beyond time, beyond space
in order to find their beloved and soguht pastor
and so they sailed out, just to see his face
to ask him all questions and bring them laughter

Their mission was done when he was found
as they stood at his feet, voice shook the ground
o give us a signal, o show us the light
people chanted in screams full of might

The champion was confused, what could I have?
I’m sorry to let you down, I hold but my heart
and my doubt and my dark, I’m just but a half
I hold nothing, just a voice that might wart

And instead of being angry or feeling let down
the crowds saw again the truth on his side
and together all hands joined as they cried
let’s look for answers together from now on

And never was the hero found alone again
as both parts shared simplicity and doubts
together the world and the hero refrained
a few songs of hope in endless grand shouts

Stand up now people, show your support
together with Toshi take off in the airport
